Wrong forum, this is the forum for Augusta GA, home of the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital

Here's a link to the Virginia forum: http://www.city-data.com/forum/virginia/

uh, eastside, i think peach was referring to norwood VA medical center in Augusta.. richmond county has 2 magnet schools (davidson, ar johnson) which are highly ranked in the state. columbia county has lakeside and greenbrier which are highly ranked public schools. middle school, I'm not too sure

Really? Oops, my mistake lol...I completely misinterpreted that as Norwood, a town in Virginia, my fault, sorry :P

But yeah, 10-15 minutes from the VA (both uptown and downtown divisions) would mean you could do West Augusta, there are a lot of nice apartment communities there, many new. As far a schools, the magnet schools in Augusta are very good, you just have to apply to them and hope to get in.

Again, I'm sorry about the mistake.

I would look into the aparments around West Augusta and Summerville/Hill/Midtown.

Regular public schools
Middle.. Tutt and Langford

High... ARC and Westside

Magnet public schools
Middle... C.T Walker, Davidson, and AR Johnson
High.... Davidson, AR Johnson, and the IB program at ARC

Davidson is the #1 ranked school in the entire state of Georgia. Davidson has been named one of the top 100 schools in america by US News & World Report for three consecutive years. Davidson was the only school in the state of Georgia to make the list.
Davidson ranks in top 100 schools third year | The Augusta Chronicle

AR Johnson is consistently ranked in the top 5 or 10 schools in the state.

In September of 2010 the RCBOE opened a $4 to $4.5 million IB wing at Richmond Academy(ARC) because of the increasing demand. I think ARC is the only high school in the metro to offer a International Baccalaureate program.
