I am getting married in July and really need a good caterer for a reasonable price. I'm not from around here and am having so much trouble finding someone that doesn't charge out the ying-yang and will actually return my call. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was married at Sacred Heart Cultural Center in downtown Augusta. Darlene with Special Occasions Catering did a fantastic job. I can't say enough good things about her, the food, the mood, the help, their speed (Sacred Heart charges by the hour and they're not cheap, so you want hired help in and out of there), their courtesy, their great price. I didn't even get a chance to eat at the wedding. Every time I sat my plate down, someone picked it up and threw it away. Darlene was even kind enough to let us take the remainder of the food home (not all Caterers will let you do that) and we ate it for over a week.

For what it's worth, my wife was very, very, hard to please. She had no complaints about Darlene or the job they did. That in and of itself was a miracle. ;-)

Be My Guest Catering- 706-305-3734
Terry Freeman is a great lady who runs this place. She just opened up an event center in Martinez/Evans after catering different events for years. She has very reasonable prices as she does everything from weddings to football team pregame meals.

Rouxs Catering-706-724-2218
Will probably be much more but they are definitely one of the standards when it comes to catering in Augusta

Good luck

I wouldn't touch Roux's Catering if I were you. I was going to hire him for my wedding but every single person I told warned me to stay away. From what I've heard he gives you one price but at the end of the wedding you are charged something completely different and he words his contract so craftily he can get away with it. One wedding coordinator told me he won't tell you this up front but he will charge $1 for every plate they have to wash, even if a dishwasher is provided. I have never heard a positive review about Roux's from anyone I know and I've only seen a few positive reviews online.
On the other hand I've heard wonderful things about Cindy's Catering, Berry's Catering & Florals, and Be My Guest.
