The augusta west shopping center is full all the time. There are people in that shopping center all day long. The mall already has open almost all the stores. Are you sure you went to augusta mall. The fresh market in the national hill shopping center is packed everyday. It has more business and customers than the new earthfare in martinez. Downtown desolate of broad st. are you crazy. I have never seen broad st not pumping even at 2 am in the moring.

The Augusta West Shopping Center filled to capacity??? Don't think so.. YOu must be referring to The Augusta Exchange.. The Augusta West Center is across I520 from Augusta Mall.. and is virtually empty... one of many dead strip malls in Augusta.
As far as downtown.. you have maybe a cpl of blocks max that have a handful of bars and restaurants.. the rest of Broad Street is mainly boarded up storefronts and wig shops.

I know where the augusta west shopping center is. It is never virtually empty on anyday of the week. If you ride past the mall you can see all the cars. Coming out of the shopping center during the day. Its definitely not empty because miyabi's japense steakhouse is always packed. I think you haven't been down to broad lately. Because i see quiet a few things that are new of broad.

The Augusta West Shopping Center only has 2 vacancies, the old theater and the old verizon store. I would be willing to bet that just about every city in America has some shopping centers with a few vacancies.

Well it was certainly practically empty a week ago. are you saying that the empty Best Buy Bldg(the main anchor), movie theater, and numerous empty shops have been filled since last week? And of course you are aware that the Barnes and Noble will be closing to move to a different shopping center? Yeah.. another empty building at Augusta West...
Here's a photo of it..yeah it really looks like a busy, happening place.

I go by the Augusta West Shopping Center every day. In fact I stopped in Burlington Coat Factory today.
The previous poster is correct. It's just about filled to capacity. However, a lot of them are low end stores that don't draw a huge amount of shoppers.
Though many times your statements are correct, try not to let your extreme bias against Augusta influence your accuracy.

The bulk of the center.. the anchors.. are empty.. those account for about 2/3rds of the total square footage of the complex..this is what happens to dying strip malls.. the anchors leave... the smaller retail parcels start attracting downscale retailers.. rent-a-centers...things of that nature.. but that makes the center less attractive to other retailers..rents plummet.. and eventually the center dies. YOu see this pattern all over Augusta.. and in many other cities too. The only major retailer left is Barnes and Noble.. but they will be moving to The Augusta Mall... leaving another empty shell at The Augusta West Center.

Maybe Miyabis is there but the owners should try to land a Steve and Barrys for the old Best Buy and kick out the Dollar Tree for a store like Office Max or DSW shoe warehouse. The center may have allot there but the area can support better anchors than what is there now.
