The anchors are all full except for the Movie Theatre. Burlington expanded into some of Best Buy and the Dollar Tree took up the rest. And both do well there. Burlington is always packed when I go in to the point where they had to recently add more registers. Granted they are not upscale stores but the people who shop in those stores appreciate them and not every store can be a Dillards.
Yeah and there is a Steve and Barry's in North Augusta so I doubt they will build another there.

LOL, you prove your ignorance more and more every day. It's not even Dave and Barry's, its Dave & Buster's.

You are moving to the Bible Belt and a time warp. You better be Baptist!!!!!!! We lived on Fort Gordon but the ideology of the local people was out there. I worked at the Medical College of Georgia and had their religion shoved down my throat daily. I dared to mention my vacation and the blue mixed drinks. I spent the next 10 minutes defending myself for partaking in alcohol. I am a white nurse and was a minority at work and not welcome. I dealt with racism from my black coworkers. I was glad when we received orders for California.

Notable Corporation
I too am thinking of moving to Augusta, correct me if I am worng is Proctor and Gmble not a notable corporation. I also tend to keep in mind the cost of living in areas. I will be coming from Virginia Beach, Virginia and I have paid rent as high as $2300.00 a month. Virginia Beach has many well to do companies in the area, however, you will pay well to do money. There are a variety of factors to consider when relocating. We must push forward and rise above what sometimes seem to be the obvious, we have all encountered racism at some point I am one who refuses to let it be an issue for my success and happiness. Often times people are afraid or fear anything different so when you in fact think people are racist it can posiibly be that they have not been outside of what they know. i make it my business to be sure my children are surrounded by diversity it will avoid them from being intimidated by any race or culture, we sometimes need to think outside of the outside box.

Kittyw, look at the Cobb house apartments to live downtown, or Enterprise Mill.
The rest:
I like Augusta. I moved here from Wisconsin a couple years ago and I've seen growth and improvement even since I got here. It still has catching up to do, but I think that's part of what makes it exciting. There's a lot of potential here.
Good luck!
