With all the growth that has been coming to Augusta, one has to imagine, how big could the airport potentially get. Greensboro NC has recently completely its third runway. I have designed an ideal runway configuration that would maximize the airports potential. Below are the current design and my design.

If the Augusta airport continues to grow at a fast pace.... Extra runways, airlines, destinations, etc are going to happen in the future.. They're spending about $15 million to renovate the current main runway at AGS..

Seems overkill to me, two parallel runways would be more than sufficient for the airports current and future needs. Just look at the Greenville-Spartanburg Int'l Airport, their total passengers is more than 1 million people, and that airport has just one runway. Not digging James Brown and Bobby Jones in the name either, I like having it simply Augusta International Airport or Augusta Metropolitan Airport.

Thank you, I have even figured out a way to expand the new terminal and add extra concourses for larger equipment. I designed the runways config based of the New Chitose Airport in Japan. The runways design makes the airport appear more modern while avoiding the Savannah River, hence why it goes over Tobacco Rroad.

I agree with eastside Dave James brown airport sounds so.... Not Kool omg and Bobby jones has an interstate that's enough..... Def Augusta international or Augusta metro!! Maybe Calhoun-albernathy (civil rights leader who marched with dr king in the 1960's close ties with Augusta) international airport

The airport's runway is also over 10,000 feet long.

This would probably be a good 20 to 30 year plan for the Airport. In about 10 years, I might could see a need for maybe one new big runway.
