Artist Row.... Close to everything on Broad street in the Central Business District
Olde Town... On the egde of downtown; community oriented, events, festivals, etc
Enterprise Mill.. Large mill with residential, restaurant, bank, companies, augusta canal center, etc
Granite Mill.... Next to Enterprise Mill

Alot of people working in the Medical District live in Summerville.. The neighborhood is located in the Midtown area and not downtown.. There's small boutiques, restaurants, and other businesses in Summerville..

I live at Enterprise Mill (Granite Mill is really the same thing) and its great. I have a one bedroom loft for $825. The building has 24 hour security and a key card to enter the residential portion so no issues with feeling safe. There are a ton of med students who already live there and many just ride their bikes to school, so I am sure you would feel at home.

The loft style is wonderful, its a lot of stairs to my bed, but you can't beat the huge ceilings and large open space, it absolutely beats a cookie cutter apartment.

The Enterprise Mill/Granite Mill has alot to offer and might present a challenge on finding vacancies.. I would suggest looking into the Whites building, but I'm not sure if you could find something in the price range..

There are other nice places in your price range worth checking out...
The Cobb House(named after Ty Cobb)
Cobb House, Augusta - Trulia

Firehouse Building
1261 Broad Street, Augusta GA - Trulia

Broadway in Olde Town
Broadway Apartments - Local Business - Augusta, Georgia - Info | Facebook

You may also want to check with Haltermann and Rex properties..
Home | Rex Group Property & Land, LLC
Haltermann Partners Real Estate Development, Augusta, Georgia

People walk and bike daily between downtown and the Medical District(via Saint Sebastian bridge).. In the picture you can see a small portion of the Medical District in the background..
