Thumbs up Life in Hephzibah?

Hello All!
My wife and I just purchased a home in Hephzibah and are going to be moving to the area during the last 2 weeks of March. I guess like a lot of other people, we are just tired of the storms and the heat and the extremely high cost of living here.
I have lived in Florida most of my life and I am a little bit worried about being away from the very abundant water here, being a water person that loves every possible thing that you can do in and on the water I might be going through withdrawls soon!
We bought blindly by running a search for cheap houses and land. we were dumbfounded by the information that popped up. after several trips up there and many visits to homes that we on the market we found just what we were looking for. !
If anyone has any information about the Hephzibah area we sould be forever gratefull.
We both enjoy biking, swiming, hiking, boating of all types and being a disabled Veteran I have lots of time. My wife and I are raising two of our Grandkids, ages 8 (boy) and 12(Girl). Everyone we have talked to so far up there have been very friendly and helpfull, we are looking forward to making the move and hope to make a lot of friends in the near future!
I was born in Columbus Georgia so I guess it's kind of fitting that we are relocating there to live out the rest of our lives! Again any opinions and advise would really be a great help! John and Terri

its a small town, so its pretty uneventful, but probably good for a family. augusta isn't far (like 20-30 minutes) away if you feel the need to visit "a big city". Its also not far from lake thurmond, seeing thast you enjoy boating.

Hi, We're still stuck down here in unlovely South Florida but hope to join you soon. We are searching for property the same way you did and I won't be sorry to bit farewell to the Melanoma State. (Husband has had melanoma.) Stay in touch and let all of us know how you found things up there and what concerns or issues there are.
