Good.. The increase should help speed up the groundbreaking of the Residence Inn by Marriott, Hilton brand hotel, Four Points by Sheraton, upscale hotel near Four Points, and the Hyatt Place downtown.

What would really help these projects and other residential projects like the Lofts at Marbury see steel meet the ground would be for the newly merged university to make a big footprint in the downtown area. That's just my two cents...

Which may just happen.

I don't think it would have much affect on the new hotels planned in West Augusta.. The Residence Inn is still going through planning and zoning, the Hilton brand is in the design phases, and the Four Points-upscale hotel are delayed..

It would definitely help in terms of the Lofts at Marbury, and other residential projects breaking ground downtown..

The merger will cause the state to speed up when it comes to GHSU's desire to build a research park on the GGHF property..

I was only referring to downtown in my post, sorry if didn't make that clear. Improving downtown like it's never been done before by changing its socioeconomic makeup will bring people to the area more than anything else in any other section of town. Maybe then it can/will be "cool" as Dr. Azziz likes to call it...

Nothing is definite, nothing is known... the land hasn't even been put up for auction yet and who knows when that will be?

Yea that doesn't surprise me down there in augusra nothing is a definite...... It seems that the merger b/w mcg and asu should spark enough growth to get many projects going , even the Hyatt place hotel
