The economy in Augusta is pretty bad.. sorry to hear of your situation. Hope your husband has better luck with job searches, but you are right.. finding a decent paying job in Augusta is like finding caviar in Wal-mart. I read in the Augusta paper that when the newest wal-mart supser center opened, 10,000 ppl applied for for the little more than 100 positions. That should tell you something when that many ppl are desperate for minimum wage no benefits jobs at wal-mart. Disgusta.. there's a reason.

I couldn't agree with you more. The construction surrounds every part of the area. The city has turned itself around the last few years. I can't wait for 2010. The downtown is really coming along.

I don't know where Richmond County got thier info..but the population of Augusta is closer to 200,0000 than 535,000. Thats according to the 2007 cencus. But we are the second biggest city in Ga.

cay1982- 535,000 is for the Augusta Metro Area, which includes Aiken, Columbia, McDuffie counties, ect.... 200,000 would be about how big Richmond County is.
