The family y is the perfect company to open a indoor and out door water park like the one in Statesboro but with more rides.

In the next seven to 10 years, McConnell said he hopes to open a Family Y branch similar to the one on Wheeler Road. Even sooner, he hopes to open a water park and ballfields at the more than 18-acre site owned by the organization next to the exhibition hall. “We’re wanting to start a fundraising campaign in the fall for a future water park and ballfields,” McConnell said following the groundbreaking. “We’d like to have those up and running by summer 2014.”

LONG-TIME WIFE SAVER FRANCHISEE TO EXPAND

Recently,The Quigley family and Wife Saver President Chris Cunningham held a groundbreaking ceremony in Grovetown to celebrate the future opening of a new restaurant there. The Quigleys have owned their building on Belair Road near Columbia Road since the 1980’s. Recently, they had one of their best Thanksgivings ever by taking more than 200 take out orders for Fried Turkey and sides. However, they see the growth in Grovetown and are excited about building a property next to Barney’s new pharmacy and in the same plaza that IGA is expected to move into. The building is being constructed by Kuhlke Construction and will closely resemble the newest Wife Saver on Furys Ferry Road in Evans. Grand Opening will be in the Spring sometime before the Masters Tournament. The Quigley’s and Chris Cunningham are looking at a different concept for the Belair Road building. That location will remain OPEN until the new Grovetown location is ready.

CPC TO OPEN 7TH LOCATION

The buzz is the Center For Primary Care has acquired land near the new Wal-Mart in Grovetown and will build it’s 7 th location there. Construction is expected to take more than sixmonths and the doors should open this summer. Dr. Paul Fischer, the founder of CPC will be the lead doctor at the new facility and his physician daughter is going to take over his reins at their Belair Road location. CPC’s other locations include South Augusta, off Wheeler Road,North Augusta, Aiken,Belair road, and Jimmy Dyess Parkway at CPC Crossroads(across from Beasley). Dr. Fischer received national attention about 20 years ago when as a MCG researcher-he took on “big tobacco” and won a federal lawsuit that prohibited tobacco companies to use characters like “Joe Camel” to market cigarettes to the younger generation.
