Hey y'all,

I'm contemplating a move from Pittsburgh towards the end of this spring. I am a Florida native with all Southern roots, so I am very excited for the move. I've spent a lot of time in Georgia (Atlanta and Savannah) before so hope I'd feel at home right away.

I have a couple questions. I am an active guy in his mid/late 20's. This makes me a "young professional" I guess. I will be taking a job offer to work at the new Plant Vogtle under construction. I like to get outside for cycling, running, etc. and also like to go out for a happy hour or on weekends as well. That being said, I do not need to live in the party area. I'd like to purchase a house in a nice area where values would continue to increase (think: Forest Hills, Summerville, etc - I've been researching haha!) and where I wouldnt have to wald/ride/drive too far to get to other things.

I am trying to figure out which neighborhood would give me the most bang for my buck as far as:
1. things to do in walking distance - parks, gym, bars, restaurants, fun stuff
2. ease of commute to site - I like to get on the road and be moving as soon as I can be in the morning. I'd like to have quick access to I-520/Padgett Hwy.
3. Any other tips/ideas/guidance applicable to a twenty something year old guy newly ( a little blindly) moving to the area would be cool too.

Thanks

Central Business District, Waters Edge, Forest Hills, Summerville, Olde Town, and Midtown...

Laney Walker and Harrisburg are neighborhoods going through a transition phase if you want to check out hidden gems.

Thanks for the input nortonguy. Those areas look real nice and green. Can you tell me how much actual time a drive from Augusta to the site in Waynesboro would take? I Google mapped it and it said about an hour to go 35 miles. Is that accurate? It seems slow.
