There is a possibility I will have a new job in Aiken, SC in the next few months. I am very excited about this opportunity, and have been doing some research on the area. I am a mid-twenties female currently finishing graduate school in Tennessee. I was just looking to gain some insight from the local community.

Would you all recommend looking for places to live in Aiken or Augusta, I don't mind the commute.

Also, what areas of each city would you recommend for young singles to look for housing? I'm probably looking to rent, preferably a town house or small house.

What is the cost of living like in each area, it seems to be affordable from what I've come across so far.

Are there any reliable taxi services in Aiken?

And finally, are there any real estate companies that you would recommend using or avoiding in looking for rental properties?

Thank you so much in advance for any guidance that is offered!!

If you are looking to rent a small house or townhouse I would definitely recommend reaching out to Blanchard & Calhoun as they are the best real estate company in this area IMO when it comes to renting houses or townhomes. I'm not as familiar with the Aiken side of the area but I know that West Augusta around the Wheeler Rd and i520 intersections and the Washington Rd and i-20 intersections there are several townhouse developments and being in West Augusta would give you interstate access to quickly get you to Aiken as well as being close to the most of the shopping and retail options in the area.
