Greetings!

I'm looking for a local home alarm company. Big national companies I called want me to buy a new system. I just want to continue using and up keeping my old one.

Any recommendations?

Depending on how old your system is, it may not be compatible with new technology. Especially if it's a cellular system that doesn't need a landline. I use Seaco Systems and haven't had any issues. They used the cellular system I already had, and were up front with me that it would no longer be compatible with monitoring technology in a few more years. Reasonable monitoring, too, compared to the big guys who will all start at $39.99 and go up from there. Seaco Systems | Augusta Georgia | Residential Security | Commercial Chris Williford is the guy who helped me with mine.

Our alarm is original to the house but works just fine. Some panels and sensors have been added and upgraded. Monitoring is not a problem either through a landline. Just need some maintenance work. I would hate to rip it all out and pay for a new system.

Unless your system is so old it doesn't communicate the common way used now, it ought to be just fine since it's a landline system. I'd give Chris at Seaco a call and at least see what he says. If you know the brand of equipment you have they should be able to tell you without even having to come by.
