I would like to see some large infill in the CBD. Canalside's 106 rooms and GRU building around 723 rooms are both in the Medical district. Although that is still the downtown area, I was thinking more along the lines of the downtown core. It is getting new apartments, but not in hundreds like the Medical District. Not the mention that is is also trying to replace all of its surface parking lots with parking decks, with one currently under construction. While the CBD is growing, I think it needs to pick up the pace. The medical district is starting to feel more urban than the CBD to me.

The Canalside is located on the opposite side of Walton Way right outside the Medical District. The Medical District is adding more residential, but the CBD is adding more businesses and jobs..

1022 Broad is four new apartments

Woolworth building
Local developer purchases old Woolworth building | The Augusta Chronicle

1162 Broad
Plans proceed to add apartments on Broad Street | The Augusta Chronicle

Residential areas probably won't be popping up along Reynolds until the GGHF site or Watermark site are developed.
