Taxes and fees seem to be all the rage right now in Augusta Georgia. Ok, maybe they're needed, maybe not. But two and possibly three hits on our wallets are just too much. Never mind what they're called, they still take food off our tables and reduce our disposable income. So, storm water, SPLOST or annual pet fees, one but not all of them. As voters let's support one and not the other two. Since our Commissioners only can vote for two of them lets get busy and let them know what we don't want and vote SPLOST down next time it hits the ballot. If we don't do something now our political leaders will think we don't mind and will think of more ways to get more of our money.

Technically SPLOST won't be an extra hit in our wallet or new tax as we are already paying that anyway. This would be just a renewal.

I read the Augusta chronicle online regularly and The Augusta Commission favorite word is: 'Mo Revenue'.

It will raise 1 million dollars a year and most boro residents were in agreement that we need the fee.

If it makes you feel any better, ours is over 4 times that much at about $200/year.
