So I'm looking to work and live in the Augusta area, I am seeing some good prices on homes in Hephzibah, but haven't really been through it, how is it in terms of owning a home there? are there good shops around? entertainment? or is it close enough to Augusta to matter?

Thanks,

Rick

Been in Hephzibah for over forty years. Like everywhere, good and bad mixed. Good choice of new and used homes on the market. Fort Gordon is close as well many businesses and facilities. Traffic isn't bad and you'd be close to a good airport. Check it out when you arrive. You just might like it.

I'll be in Georgia for a few days in August, will go back up there for a review since it's been 3 years since i moved from Georgia, in comparison, how about Evans, Grovetown and other surround places?

Going by what most folks would call "entertainment", you won't find a vast amount of it in Hephzibah, Grovetown, or Evans that you mentioned...other than a movie theater in Evans I suppose, and the occasional concert at the Lady A Pavilion. Plenty of shopping in Evans, but you're generally not far from shopping no matter where you live in the CSRA. Of those three locations you mentioned, Hephzibah would most likely give you the most home for the money, followed by Grovetown and then Evans. If you'll be at Fort Gordon, Aiken County is always a decent option, too. You can get to Gate 5 from many places in Aiken County in 30 minutes or less.

Most of the shopping is in Augusta. I live in the Hephzibah area and it takes me about 15 minutes to get to the mall and other shopping areas and the movie theater.

The city limits of Hephzibah offers the better overall neighborhoods.. The homes off Willis Foreman and in Diamond Lakes(Manchester) are nice, but their in South Augusta(Hephzibah address)..
