Glad to see companies like this are moving downtown...

Quote:
Perhaps most important, the Broad Street address ties Mealviewer into the city’s budding creative-tech industry, including Web site designer Powerserve, another Broad Street firm; software developer Rural Sourcing Inc., which operates out of the historic Enterprise Mill; and Fortune 1000 company Unisys, whose year-old technical support center in the renovated former Fort Discovery space – expected to max out at 700 employees – makes it downtown’s largest tech employer.
Those businesses, along with tech-focused peers in the suburbs, including Columbia County’s TaxSlayer and CallingPost Communications, are the types of companies Mealviewer will eventually compete with for future employees.
“Cool facilities, nice places to work – that’s a big part of what millennials want,” Wafford said. “They want to be part of a community, they want a work environment that is fun and relaxed, so we needed this space as a strategic move to help us attract the best
talent.”
Nationwide, the return-to-the-city movement has coincided with the rise of the millennial workforce, and it’s primarily being driven by small creative firms and tech startups who, like Mealviewer, want nonconventional office space.
That’s why Augusta’s Downtown Development Authority is updating its office inventory to include nonoffice buildings with potential to become offices. Margaret Woodard, the group’s executive director, said there is still demand for traditional “class A” office space – such as what’s found in conventional downtown mid-rises like the Lamar, SunTrust and Wells Fargo buildings – but a growing number of companies, new and old, are interested in renovated structures offering large amounts of contiguous
space.
She said most office space inquiries she receives are from companies seeking 5,000 square feet or less, though she recently spoke with a Richmond County company seeking 15,000 square feet of space to consolidate its three existing offices.
“Our bread and butter is companies with 15 to 20 employees,” she said. “Everybody wants to wait for the big bang – and when it happens, like Unisys, it’s awesome – but those don’t happen every day.”

The companies forming a cluster in the Augusta Exchange area weren't even mentioned. It shows the how much the creative class is growing and expanded locally.
