Family is relocating to work at Plant Vogtle. Kids at 16 months and 4 months old. Trying to plan a house hunting trip next week. Looking for best places to rent 3-4 bedrooms 2 baths with a yard. We prefer country living so a house rental would be amazing, but apartments in a neighborhood are ok too as long as it's safe. if you know of any realtors who could help or any info that would be great. Don't really want to drive more than 40 minutes to work.

Look into the city of Hephzibah. The 30815 zipcode is suburban, but the city of Hephzibah offers small town living. The commute is the best in metro Augusta for working at Plant Vogtle unless you live in Waynesboro.

Try Waynesboro. Close to Vogtle and rents are cheap. Nice small town atmosphere. Farmland and country living. Main Street is very nice. There is a super Walmart and other stores and restaurants so you would not need to drive to Augusta too often.

I think "Don't really want to drive more than 40 minutes to work" covers that, no?

In that case Waynesboro is your closest actual town. Other options would be McBean and Hephzibah. Personally I would choose Waynesboro

Hephzibah would be your best bet. Still country, and close to plant Vogtle but also close to the amenities in Augusta. Waynesboro is good as well although a bit removed from Augusta.

Waynesboro has a very cute downtown. Hephzibah is kind of a rural suburb of Augusta. It doesn't have much of any main Street downtown feel like Waynesboro. Waynesboro will cut your commute time to Vogtle in half versus Hephzibah. Also Waynesboro does have a Walmart supercenter and several restaurants. I guess it all depends on how often you will need to go into Augusta..If mainly on just weekends then Waynesboro should be fine. It's only 30 miles from downtown . Augusta. If you want to be closer to Augusta but still an easy drive to Vogtle then you may want to check out homes in McBean and off hwy 56.

My recommendation would be to focus your search south of tobacco Road between Hw 25 and Hwy 56 all the way to and including the town of Waynesboro. Using those geographic parameters you should be able to find several houses for rent that fulfill your criteria and will be an easy commute to Plant Vogtle. Usually there are Realtors that specialize in that part of town.

Did you find anything to rent? I am coming there in November and would like to know if you have any rental suggestions.
