Default I was really impressed with Augusta!

I just got back from visting augusta last weekend with family. We rode downtown while there and walk along the riverwalk. We also checked out some of the stores, and shops along broad street. We visited the augusta mall while there too. Overall my family and I really had a great time visiting. Our kids really loved the national science center downtown. We were going to move to ga in the future. But it probably was going to be to a suburban county in atlanta. Now we are thinking of moving to augusta or a surrounding county. Where should we looked to live at. Inside of the city and the suburbs.

Inside the richmond county city limits West Augusta, South Augusta hephzibah-blythe-mcbean area, and Martinez part of west augusta.

Outside of the city limits, Evans, Martinez Thomson, Lincolton, McCormick, Aiken, North Augusta, Grovetown, and Waynesboro. You should be able to find somehthing in any city located in augusta.

Hi ratlop,
What type of housing/neighborhood are you looking for? What is your price range? Augusta-Richmond County is where most of the 'city' atmoshphere is located. Martinez and Evans in Columbia County are more suburban. North Augusta and Grovetown are separate towns, but you will probably end up driving to Augusta for shopping and dining (less so in North Augusta than in Grovetown). Beyond those areas there is more of a rural feel. If you go even farther out, Thomson, GA and Aiken, SC are small towns with their own shopping and dining, but probably not as much variety as Augusta.

If you move in to the Augusta metro area most of the shopping and dining will be either in West Augusta or in Columbia County. Hope this helps.

Urban blight and strip malls are certainly something to be impressed by.

North Augusta, Evans, Aiken, Martinez, Grovetown, Hephzibah, West Augusta, to name a few. Thomson, Waynesboro, McCormick, are others further out.
