Hello everybody due to my new employment. I will be relocating with my family from marietta to augusta this year. I will be working downtown with my new job. I need to know where should we look to live at. Our price range is in the lower $300,000. We would like to live in a area or neighborhood that's pretty diverse. I willing to travel 45 to 30 minutes to work everyday.

West Augusta, Columbia County, North Augusta, or Aiken are great choices to live in. Aiken is probably about 30 miles from Downtown Augusta, but it shouldn't be a problem. West Augusta has alot of the amenities in the area, but if you have children, then Columbia County is where it is at. Also, Aiken County has good schools as well. In North Augusta, there are many ritzy homes that you can easily get for 300K. Also, Carriage Hills and Tudor Branch in Columbia County has nice homes that range from the mid-200s to low-300s. In West Augusta, there are new homes being built along Jimmie Dyess Parkway. Summerville & Olde Towne also are nice places to live (though Olde Towne is bordered by East Augusta, which is a very run-down place). I'm not sure about new homes in Aiken, but I'll give you more info when I get it. Hope this helps.
