So where does Augusta rank on these lists??
These are simply "snapshot" articles...and no where does it pace Augusta in the top 10, top 20 or even top 50 or 100 places to retire.
I'm sure just about every medium sized city i a temperate climate zone will claim they are a great place to retire.

A lot of cities try to market themselves to retiring people. Although Augusta would be a good place to (climate, far from hurricanes, generally very easy to get around by car, cheap healthcare and housing) I don't think that's what we should aim for. I think getting our downtown more attractive and that will attract/retain younger people who have tended to leave.

Yeah youre definitely disgusta false, disgusta sucks. Because you always bring up athens every time or greenville. I hope you do realize since you have posted so much comments on augusta usually negative. People know you by now and what you type. You bring up athens or greenville. I assuming you stay in one of those. Soon as disgusta false loses his membership you pop up.

no i went to the suggested websites....and a.a.r.p listed Athens not me...i looked in about 20 diffrent retirement sites because i was curious about augusta's rankings...i didn't badmouth nor run down augusta just pointed out what i read... one point i did find augusta as it turns out is one of the most inexpensive towns to relocate i can provide the link if you wish....the one town that did pop up a lot surprisingly was Aiken... i even found reference to it in golf digest...

joeyrun,I don't know what other screen name disgusta false,is using. He's beenon a lot of the Greenville Threads though, and I strongly believe he's from Greenville. But anyway, between disgusta false and the one you think here is the same person,I will just say,it's hard to tell, since both of them seem equally obsessed with "trashing "my hometown with all manner of slander and lies. The one here though that you think is also disgustafalse, claims to live somewhere close by Augusta, like a suburb of Augusta.I think also, the guy whose using "mayor of Macon"is doing so fraudently, and this should be looked into as well to see if the mayor of Macon, has a membership on this site.I really wish this could be proven for sure.I'd love to see these lying trouble makers "kicked off"this site permanently.

i have done nothing to get removed i even have a 30 rep and 1 violation (cussing) but i like this forum and i am gonna stay awhile.... you seem obsessed with disgusta i checked his profile and he does seem to have a history here not a good one it seems but thats neither here nor there...if i have an opinion on something i will not hesitate to give it though i have been trying to see the half full glass instead of half empty...things seem to be finally moving here in augusta though we have a ways to go...this town needs new blood and new leadership, with the newcomers maybe progress will follow more quickly...

Oh I have nothing personal at all against you. But you just said disgusta false doesn't have a history here. Are you crazy? Even before Augusta got its own thread. He would post on every thread about the city with a negative comment. I don't think that you check his profile and saw his history. Because all his post about negative towards augusta. And then he adds his favorites of greenville and athens.
