Question Augusta Fine Dining

I will be leaving shortly for a year in Iraq. I as a lower middle class man, I do not do the classy restraunt thing and I am in need of some fine dining info. My staple is Ryans, Red Lobster and Villiarta with the occasional Villa Europa. Can anyone suggest a fine dining establishment I can take my parents to before I leave. I need the kind of place that will create a lifelong memory for both of them. Any suggestions?

La Maisons on Telfair i think .. I took my wife there and it was a dinner i will never forget.I had the chef design a meal for us and he paired wines with each course it was heaven. The Chateau Breon was exellent and the tableside bannana fosters for dessert was just right. The whole dinner set me back about a hunderd bucks..For something upscale but not quite as expensive try d tims on Greene St,live jazz and a very good menu. .The steaks were wonderful and the salads were fresh cold and crisp. If you don't mind the drive try coming over to Aiken there are many upscale restaurants on Laurens St, I recommend the Bowery . or Malia's try the swordfish it's the best. and for the best prime rib you have ever eaten try Eejays..Good luck in Iraq and thank you for taking on such a hard job to protect our freedom..

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions. These are the kind of places I am unaccustomed to going to and will check them all out.
I figure if I can ease the fears of my parents a little it may help them to understand. Even though I am not in the military any more, there is a grave need for civillian support personel over there. I last went overseas to Germany but that was during peace time.

Any of these places have Valet Parking? That would be a good twist. Really not looking for monetary value, instead I am looking for knock it out of the park, towel over the arm, food names which you cannot pronounce, DEEEEEEEEEEELUX dinner. Something very special for Mom & Dad. In other words, the absolute best that the C.S.R.A. has to offer. I am thinking anywhere around the $100 and up type place.

Then La Maisons is the place or check out the Wilcox Inn in Aiken very expensive white glove dining.. The Wilcox will be expensive and very very nice..but so will La Maisons..You can call the chef at La Maison and he will plan you a dinner down to the last detail.. He made us an appetizer..salad..soup..intermezzo...main course..dessert..all paired with a diffrent wine my own personal server.. and the chef spent a large amount of time at the table explaining each course. and i spent well over a hundred now that i think about it more. But there was absolutely nothing at all i can think of that was wrong. My wife still talks about that dinner.

I have no good feelings about Atlanta at all. The politicians in Atlanta upset me greatly so I will not spend one penny in that City! I would go to Columbia first. If you are wondering why... P.M me and Ill tell you. This forum is not the place for flaming.
