There are alot more than 5,000 rooms in metro Augusta. But you can compare the two by profit. Atlanta hotel revenue in fulton county is down 2.6 million and in gwinnett county its down 6 million. Hotel revenue is up 1 million in Augusta.

That might be true but i'm still willing to bet Atlanta has more hotel revenue than Augusta. Saying Augusta has more hotel revenue than Atlanta is nothing short of sad and funny. Call me when Augusta gets a Westin, W, and Hyatt.

What does specific hotel brands have to do with hotel revenue. And I didn't say it the article did. Read it for yourself. Don't be a hater

Are you really going to believe something the media says without actual facts? Yes, Augusta has more hotel revenue now than Atlanta which also means Augusta has NFL/MLB/NHL/NBA teams, 1,000+ foot highrises, 5+ million people, mass transit, etc. I'm not saying Augusta's hotel revenues aren't up but there is no way they're making more money than Atlanta.

Certainly there's no way Augusta beats Atlanta in gross revenue.
It's likely the article didn't specify it was using one of several other ways to measure hotel revenue...for instance, revenue per available room...which goes way up when there is a high occupancy rate. Like, when a lot of out of town construction workers are occupying hotel rooms.
