I'm not quite sure there is a market for valet here... maybe during the holidays... I could see it working then, when parking is scarce at the mall. Perhaps the mall could experiment with valet during the Christmas shopping season.

I agree with lilmusket...think that only during the height of Christmas rush would people pay...I jsut don't see the people here in Augusta flashing out the cash...

I've never had a problem parking at Augusta Mall, except for at Christmas.. and as long as its affordable I might use a valet if I don't want to have to walk to the distant areas of the parking lots with loads of bags... then again I have been doing most of my Christmas shopping online.. so not sure how often I would be at the mall anyway. The only mall in Atlanta that I believe has valet is Lenox and Phipps, I think.. It's definately geared toward the more upscale crowd.
Valet might be a good idea for an upscale restaurant in downtown.

A valet could open after 5pm on Friday. A test run could be done. Augusta mall is packed everyday. Thurs-Sunday its really bad.
Try to find a space on a friday or saturday afternoon. People have to park on the grass. Beside the main entrance parking lot. Parking near the promenade is unrealistic. Those spaces are gone first.

What would be an acceptable fee? $5 for first 2 hours + tip?

Sounds fair to me. The promenade at Augusta mall targets the upscale shopper.

General Growth Properties, the owner of Augusta Mall just filed for bankruptcy yesterday.. I wonder how this will affect the mall? Luckily the finished the promenade before filing bankruptcy.
