Does anyone know what is supposed to go there? All I have heard about is the Carmax... I think that has been finished, but it won't open till next year most likely or "until market conditions improve" according to the company... but certainly other things will locate there, but what? Has anyone heard any announcements? There's nothing in the local paper about it.

Are you guys sure it is the town center going up? I haven't heard anything about tenants. Heck, I can't even find a site plan for the center.

I have not been able to find ANY news article about a "Town Center" concept... the only thing I have been able to find is news about the Carmax.. which will be delayed from opening because of the economy. I sometimes take things that I read on this forum with a grain of salt, and usually try verify the claims certain ppl make on here. Certain ppl do tend to exaggerate things just a tad on here. I'll keep looking for a newslink about this "town Center" and post it.. so far nothing opther than the news about a Carmax. I know a cpl opf years ago that there was an announcement of a new Lifestyle Center called "The Forum" located at I20 and Walton Way ext... maybe that's what they are thinking about... but I don't think construction has started on that yet..

I found the developers website for the town center: http://www.bccommercial.com/edit/view.aspx?id=14 No site plan, no tenant list, and says completion is fall 2008. There probably is no town center getting built. Just an empty Carmax and probably some fast food restaurant.
Here is the developers website for the Forum: http://www.forumdevgroup.com/augusta.html Once again there is no site plan, no tenant list, and not even a completion date.

Like I said.. the near collapse of the financial markets have changed the landscape completely.. some of these projects may never get built.. and others are going to be delayed. Unfortunately long delays can kill a project alltogether.

We're having the same problems here in Greenville. This project has been delayed mainly due to lack of tenants: Magnolia Park, Greenville, South Carolina And now several of the tenants that did sign on are going somewhere else in the city including Apple, Ruth's Chris, and Chipotle. I'm hoping it along with the Augusta projects will get built, but it could be a while. The good news is we're starting to see the banks post a profit and the stock market rising. I'm hoping it will continue.

Well atleast you guys have a Costco... one was announced for Augusta, but no word yet when construction will begin or even where it will eventually be located. I really like Costco and hope one does come here soon.

Is all your info on Augusta from what you read? Online or in a article. On your post you are always talking about. What you read online or in the local paper.

Why don't you just ride down I-20. That way you can see Wheeler town park with your own two eyes. You can't miss the lifestyle center. The construction is massive.

Lol g-man 430 and lil musket who don't even live in Augusta. Are trying to tell ppl about a lifestyle center in Augusta. There is no fast food restaurant at WTP. You don't see ppl from Augusta in the Greenville forum telling forumers in Greenville. What projects are going on in their city. Probably because they live there and would no alot more than ppl who don't live there.
You guys don't know how you foolish you sound sometimes. At first lil musket said there wasn't even a carmax built lol. Again all you have to do is ride down I-20. The lifestyle center is in plain sight.
