Thomson has changed a lot since I first went there 20 years ago! Makes the future move to Wilkes county even more worthwhile!

It's going to be intresting to see what city grows the fastest. Between Hephzibah, Grovetown, Thomson, & Waynesboro in the next 5 -10 year's. All have about the same population. 7 to 10,000 in the city limits.

Grovetown and Thomson are along I-20. So with all the growth happening along the interstate. That helps both those cities.

Plant vogtle gets two nuclear reactors by 2013. Hephzibah and Waynesboro will grow from that. The plant will bring a couple thousand jobs.

Dont forget about the thousands of NSA jobs coming to Augusta. South Richmond County has plenty of room for those workers. If I-14 become a reality, go ahead and add Wrens and Blyth to the conversation.

How do you get thousands of N.S.A jobs coming to Augusta ??? That is total crap all they have said about the new MILITARY complex is they will bring in between 100- 125 people a year for five years that really doesn't look like a job windfall to me . Thet also went on to say the exact mission is unclear but it may be deciphering terrorist "chatter" I am so sure the goverment wants to bring in Joe Bob and Bubba to do that job.. I guarantee the National Security Agency will not be holding a job fair anytime soon ....GEEZ.....

Okay...you're not sure they will bring in Joe Bob. True.

What I AM sure of is whoever comes to do the job-whether it's 500 or thousands- will buy and rent housing, shop for groceries, go to movies, go to restaurants, and in general pay for other things. Having government employment with a steady, and very good paycheck, is a net plus for the area.

The type of employees NSA brings are actually better than more active duty military for Fort Gordon.
