Working in Martinez-Where should I live?
I like the apartments/lofts downtown, townhomes on riverwatch pkwy, and the apartments off I-20 near wheeler road. I'll be working in Martinez and need input? What area is nicer and a better place to live.

What's your age and what do you like to do...in your spare time.
We live in a rental loft downtown and have for over two years. Its been an interesting experience. I see lots of good with living in downtown...but you get the warts too...women of the night, loud traffic (our single pane windows only seem to amplify the noise), beggars & homeless (usually two very different and distinct groups in Augusta) and very little retail shopping (though at least one shop a week gets some of our money).
Positives - you can walk to about 8-10 restraurants and as many bars...no potential DUI issues . Walk along the Riverwalk. Look down where the Baseball Stadium will be...hopefully. More space...Our loft is much bigger than a similar sized apartment.
Its given us a chance to find out more about the city to determine where we plan to put down roots.
Good luck

All three of those area's are nice in my opinion. Downtown would be your best choice though.

Almost all the townhomes/condos on riverwatch are new and very nice. Another thing is not too may people know about them. They are hidden behind the hotels, other buildings, & residential area's.

The really upscale apartments off I-20/Wheeler rd. Start at like $800 a month but they're worth it.

Apartments on wheeler rd are next to everything. Downtown can offer you alot less driving than the other's will. You can walk and do several things.

I think the wheeler road area will be the same. In the next couple of years. They're building alot of residential around wheeler road, perimeter pkwy, and west wheeler plwy.
