Condo/Townhome in the city
I am looking for an condo/townhome in Augusta. I moving here from Raleigh and I would like something closer in the city. Preferrably a area with a younger proffesional demographic. Does anybody have suggestions? Thanks!

Buy or Rent? Price Range? Old Towne might be your best bet, or if you want to be in the middle of downtown there are a few lofts/condos for sale and rent on the upper stories.

West Wheeler Pkwy
WWP is a fast growing area that's hidden. Not too many people know about the area. Lots of construction on WWP. It has about 12-16 neighborhoods and they're building more. Some are condos, upscale apartments, or townhomes. I see plenty of young people out and about in WWP.

Several vacant buildings downtown in the last few years. Have been converted into some type of commercial/residential/retail component. The white's condos are attracting ppl from large cities new to Augusta. Enterprise mill has more of the loft or studio bedroom but still top notch.

Old Towne is located downtown and is nice. It also fits the demographic you seek. Magnolia villas is a new townhome community in West Augusta.

There are numerous lofts on or near Broad Street downtown. Other than the White's Building, they are all rentals (I think). Haltermann Partners and Rex Development are two groups that usually have lofts for rent. All would be under your price range. That way you can walk to the bars and restraurants downtown...
Does anyone know how many lofts have been sold in the White's Building? I think they delivered the right product at the wrong price (too high) at the wrong time...and it appears that they did not deliver on the retail spaces...

12 so far have sold in the White's Building.. But only one floor is completed. The band they used for financing folded so it is slowing them down a bit and they cannot accept new contracts for a couple of weeks

Downtown definitely has a young vibe too it. That's growing in numbers everyday. There are some condo/towhome properties near the patridge inn and the Hill/Summerville/Augusta country club area.

I would stay away from the White's Building.. news has come out that their financing has evaporated.. there are numerous liens on the project.. Only 12 units have been completed, and it looks unlikely the rest will ever be completed. Its a hiuge setback fro downtown, especially after the Watermark condo project was cancelled.
