Future resident of Augusta
My family and I are making a move to Augusta within a few months. I'm looking to find a home around $185K. I have a 8 year old daughter so a good elementary school. Would have to be in the area. We are looking to buy in West Augusta or Hephzibah.

You should be able to find a home in that price range in West Augusta. I'd vote for Montclair... nice well established neighborhood of brick ranch homes. An elementary school is within walking distance (one of the best elementary schools in the county). You are also near Washington Rd where you will find a lot of shopping and dining options. Hephzibah is further out, more rural (though you may like that).. you can typically have more land out there. But you are also going to have to drive about 15 miles to get to where the restaurants, shopping, and movie theaters are. My vote would be for west Augusta.

West Augusta would probably be your best bet. Have you looked for a school yet? Is there things that you would like to be close to (job, family, etc.)?
Welcome to Augusta!!

We have being doing research on Lake Forest Hills, Sue Reynolds, National Hills, and Warren road elementary in West Augusta.
Also we were told Mcbean, Hephzibah, Goshen, and Diamond lakes in Hephzibah are good too.

Since you have an 8 year old, I would work on the elementary school first. It will limit your area of search. Once you have that down, find out what you want in a house (beds, baths, size, price, etc.), and slowly narrow down your selection that way. Best of luck.

What would you consider to be the best school of the bunch? Any suggestions of housing near?

Cameron, Granite Hill, Aylesbury commons, and Elderberry go to Sue reynolds which is a very good school.

With 185k you aren't going to find many homes in Forest Hills. So after Lake forest hills I would go with National hills. There are several upper middle class neighborhood's near National Hills elementary. I suggest putting your daughter at that school. Excellent teacher's and staff.

Hephzibah is a nice place to raise a family. Nice neighborhood's in the city.
All of those school's you named are good. Along with Blythe and Gracewood elementary.
