If you want to compare cities... it makes more since to compare Augusta with Macon and Columbus and Montgomery.. not Greenville. Greenville metro has over 1,000,000 ppl.. about twice that of Augusta.. so its really not an even comparison.

The I20 project will add an extra lane on each side.. making it a 6 lane interstate (3 lanes each side).. those are through lanes.. you don't count merging lanes. I20 thru Augusta is not going to be like I85 through Atlanta...not anywhere close.

That makes more since to me. So basically it currently a 4 lane interstate?

Greenville metro is only 600,000 plus. Augusta metro is 540,000 plus. Greenville CSA is 1 million. Augusta doesn't have a CSA to boost population.

I-20 will be three lanes in mcduffie. 3 lanes in columbia except for near Belair rd. Belair rd to 520 was already three lanes on both sies. Before construction. So why would it have three lanes again after construction. Richmond county will be 4-5 lanes on both sides.

lil musket, g-man430, and montoenterprises I know you guys love G-ville. But do we have to keep hearing about traffic on I-85. Especially since the thread is about I-20, and 520. All three of you guys keep repeating the same thing over and over. Like you are all the same person.

Jared galleria of Jewlery, Apple, Sephora, Imax, 5.7.9, Strasburg Children, Silvina, Know Style. Why doesn't Greenville have these Augusta does. I don't want to get into the city vs city. I just wanted you to know that Augusta has things Greenville doesn't. Charleston has more than Augusta, Greenville, Columbia, and Greensboro. And you can add Savannah and Winston Salem too.

Greenville doesn't have those yet, and some of it might not even fit the demographics of Greenville. But you still can't deny that Greenville has more amenities can you? A great deal more!

The whole Greenville CSA uses Greenville at sometime or another and was and will be the originally msa. So his statement is correct. Greenville has a draw of about 2 times more than Augusta. Oh, and the Greenville metro alone grew by 12,000+ in one year. The csa grew by more than 20,000!

Yeah, but we still have Augusta. Get one of those and then we'll talk

Plus we have the Masters/Augusta Nationals.

I would guarantee most people 500 miles away have never heard of Greenville, SC. Or if they have, images of a one horse town come to mind.
