Default Evans traffic

We are house hunting and it is getting closer to time to move. I found a nice place, but it is in Evans. I've heard that Evans traffic is horrific. The home is near Washington Rd. Is this area bad for traffic or is it better because it is near a main road?
Thank you for any input.
Liz

Horrific is relative. Compared to Atlanta, it's a piece of cake. Compared to a small community, it can get annoying at commute times, particularly in the afternoon. It has increased significantly in the past 5 years, but so have the amenities. Evans residents used to have to drive to Augusta/Richmond County to dine out and shop. Not so much anymore...

Besides North Belair and Washington road. The two main roads in the Evans area. Traffic is not really of a problem. North Belair and Washington are only bad during rush hour. West Augusta traffic is alot worse than Evans. Evans has increase its amenities. But you are still going to have to drive into the city. Unless you want to hang out at Applebee's.

My opinion is, the traffic may be bad at times, but you will so conveniently located that traffic would rarely be an issue.

Default Thank you

Thank you for all of your honest opinions. We went to look at the place on a Friday at about 3:15. Sitting at the light on the main strip, I could see how it could get bad at rush hour, but it was manageable. We drove around and noticed the theater and a decent amount of places to shop. The theater there has a lot more options than here, so we are pretty happy. lol

The neighborhood seemed pretty quiet and off the main road. Let's hope we get it!

Thank you for the welcome!
