G-Man Augusta isn't losing jobs. While some store's have closed. Goody's, Circuit City, and Comp USA. That's nothing compared to the jobs we have gained. ADP, SRS, T-Mobile, American tire, ESI, NSA, and the medical district. Augusta's economy will double over the next 5 years.

The NSA opens next year. There are only three in the entire world.

The dept of labor says Augusta unemployment is 8.5%. The state avg. is 9.3%. The national avg is 8.9%. Augusta is below both. Where are your facts? I forgot add to Teleperformance behind Aug mall 400 new jobs.

If Augusta isn't losing jobs then why is the unemployment rate there higher than it was a year ago? The Department of Labor has the facts nortonguy. Look them up if you don't believe me.

Do you think the other mid sized cities don't have big industry? Do you think the other cities' economies aren't doubling? Do you think the other cities don't have big companies where they are the only ones to have them? Add in the fact that when you look at GDP and population growth Augusta is already behind a good bit.

You mean like how BMW is building a new manufacturing plant here that will add 500 new jobs? Grab your swords. On guard.

Not only that, how about GE who's engineering headquarters are in Greenville? How about Flour, Michelin, ICAR, etc. Most of the stuff up here is Fortune 500. Not small companies. Thats why the GDP is much higher and the growth. Greenville doesn't really target small business.

I do get this sense that some people who live in Augusta live in some sort of bubble. I'm sure the same can be said about other places.
