Crime in the streets of Augusta, Evans, Martinez?
I am moving to the Augusta area soon and did some research on crime. I found this website
Augusta Crime Map - Showing Crime in Augusta, US - Crime Statistics - Crime Alerts - Crime Stops Here
When I looked at the crime map on the website and checked all crimes that have occurred in the past year in the Augusta area, I was horrified at the results. Does anybody on here know about crime rate in N. Augusta or Martinez? Your advice needed.

The map in the link showed crimes just from the past month.. not the whole year. It appeared Evans, Martinez and North Augusta was included in that map too. I suppose you could go to the sheriffs dept website for each county (Richmond, Columbia, and Aiken) for their respective crime stats.

Adjust the dates and refresh the map
That crime website allows you to change the start date so you can see crime over a longer period of time.

In 2007 for violent crime per 100,000 people. The rank worst to safest.
1. Savannah (worst)
2. Macon
3. Atlanta
4. Columbus
5. Augusta (safest)

I appreciate the rating list. N. Augusta may be the best place to be according to the crime website. I noticed that most of the houses for sale are fairly small and fairly old - 20 years old and older. New places are small and crammed together with the next house on a tiny lot. I am open to suggestion on where to look for a house 2000 sq feet in a good neighborhood with a 2-car garage. Ideas anybody?
