Hephzibah is the best place to live. In richmond county and the metro area. Great parks, neighborhoods, and very low crime.
$7.25
Scale 1-10. Comparing to larger cities about a 7
Very stable. Augusta economy is based on SRS, Ft. Gordon, Medical District. Next year NSA too.
Bad during rush hour. The highway/road construction is extremely bad in Augusta. There are lane, ramp, and exit closures. Which happen almost on a daily basis.
Hephzibah/Blythe
First Friday, Riverwalk, Fort Discovery, Adventure Crossing, Augusta Canal, Savannah Rapids, Westibou, Arts in the Heart, Candle light jazz series on the river, and boat tours.

The min wage for Augusta is whatever the Fed min wage is. One good thing about Augusta is that it does have some of the lowest housing cost of any city on the country.. but living on min wage here will still be a stretch but possible on two incomes. Be aware that unemployment is quite high.. as it is everywhere.. so even getting a min wage job may not be that easy.
For the person recommending Hephzibah.. Nothing really wrong with hephzibah, it's a quaint rural community... but it is a bit out there and removed from shopping, nighlife, dining, and jobs. West Augusta area or North Augusta, Sc is going to put you closer to where things are. I would suggest North Augusta. You get a lot more for your money there.

West Augusta has three times as many. Restuarant & shopping areas compared to North Augusta. Augusta exchange, Augusta mall, & Surrey Center to name a few. North Augusta doesn't even have more retail/resturants than Aiken and Evans. North Augusta is probably tied with Martinez.

I wouldn't want to live in Hephzibah again. Maybe I lived in a not so great area, but it wasn't a very nice neighborhood. There were bars on all the windows and doors where I lived. All of South Augusta just looks dirty to me. I worked off of Peach Orchard Rd (?). Everything in that area looks depressing. I would definitely recommend West Augusta.

When do you ever hear about Hephzibah on the news? Compared to other suburbs Evans, N. Augusta, Martinez, Edgefield, Grovetown, Aiken, Waynesboro or Thomson about crime. A woman and her friend being stabbed by her boyfriend in Martinez. Ending up in a high speed chase across three counties. A woman being dragged by 4 young men in the parking lot. In the kroger in Evans. A elderly man was also kidnaped in the Evans kroger plaza. People being shot in Aiken at the Gym and other places. North Augusta shootings happening. A pizza man was robbed twice in three days. On Bradleyville rd in North Augusta. There was a deadly home invasion in Grovetown. Along with a son and mother who killed. Their next door neighbor in Grovetown. You don't hear about these things in Hephzibah. I seriously doubt that about your neighborhood. Even the worst areas in inner city Augusta. Almost all of them don't have bars on the doors. You couldn't have lived in the city limits of Hephzibah. You need to get out more. South Augusta has several nice areas. Goshen, South Lakes estates, Willis Foreman, and Diamond Lakes.
Hephzibah, Blythe, and South Augusta are three diffrent places.
