Default Where the tecnies and artists tend to be in Augusta? And what do you like about living in Augusta?

Hello,

I am considering moving to Augusta. Which neighborhood/areas are the places that technology comapnies and artist communities tend to be located? Thanks.

Also, what do you like about living in Augusta? How is life in Augusta compared to that in Athens, GA?

What is the area north of North Augusta, near the canal and the state forest like? A bedroom community?

Thanks.

West Augusta and Downtown Augusta.

Artist Row on Broad street downtown is where all the artsy places in walking distance are.

The traffic is worst here in metro Augusta... Augusta is also faster pace compared to Athens. I recommend the perimeter parkway area in West Augusta... Perimeter pkwy runs a semi circle around wheeler road between wheeler rd and I-20. Perimeter pkwy lies along a huge commercial district.

West Wheeler Pkwy IMO.

Townhome/home/condo mix-use area. Located in a rapidly growing area of West Augusta near the Augusta Exchange. Pereimeter parkway is 3 minutes away from West Wheeler parkway.

Here is small pic of one side of Artist Row taken in 2008. People live above several of the businesses on Artist Row.

The Westibou Festival starts in September. The Arts scene is really stepping up in Augusta.

Downtown is where the artsy stuff is but as far as living as others said I'd go with West Augusta, you can get nicer places and it's a little safer. If you are into pottery and paiting there are some nice galleries on Artist Row.

I don't about that, downtown Augusta provides several nicer places to live too.

I live in Evans and I love to walk up and down Artist Row, especially during First Friday or when one of the many festivals is happening.

Joey, You should have attended First Friday last night then. OMG was it a crazy atmosphere down there. I thought downtown was packed last weekend, but last night was something totally else. There were still plenty of people on the streets when I left at 4am.
