Default restaurant.com gift certificates in Augusta

A year or so ago, I bought restaurant.com gift certificates for my parents who live in Augusta. As I remember, there were a decent number of restaurants participating (including Partridge Inn). However, now there don't seem to be any Augusta-area restaurants that participate in the program. Was there some sort of issue that made the local papers? Did the city council pass a law forbidding the kind of restrictions they allow restaurants to place on the certificates? Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I can't exactly answer your question as to what happened, but we recently moved here and I have noticed that there are no local restaurants accepting the vouchers, either. Very annoying.

Luckily I checked it out before purchasing. It was quite a disappointment.

Just to give you a heads up. This is Augusta and you might as well get used to it. It is very different from other places in the country and there are allot of things that will annoy you. Knowing Richomnd County, they probably are standing in the way of restaurants accepting this. Anything that will help the city, Augusta will find a way to stop it.
