Cortland Dusseau, the managing partner for Alabama-based Legacy Hospitality LLC, told the Downtown Development Authority of Augusta on Thursday that the $25 million project has been designed and will be presented to bankers.

The eight-story, 139-room Hyatt Place will sit on Reynolds Street across from the proposed trade, exhibit and event center.

DDA officials said the groundbreaking would happen in June, a month after ground is broken on the TEE center. It will take a year to build the Hyatt and its 106-space underground parking deck. The project also calls for a three-story office or commercial building at the corner of Reynolds and Ninth streets.

Businessman and developer Clay Boardman, hoping to jump start the Harrisburg revival that's expected with the coming of the Kroc Center, announced a new program Thursday, aiming to rehab dilapidated houses the same way Habitat for Humanity builds new ones.

His Harrisburg holdings include the old Martha Lester School on Broad Street -- which he says he hasn't decided what to do with yet -- and a row of six mustard-colored houses east of it, across from the Broad Street U-Haul.

Report from the public meeting held on Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 (Laney Walker/Bethlehem Plan)

Overall, the project is expected to generate nearly $100 million in economic development.

Home pricing is based on market conditions and start at $130k.

$1 million has been advanced(mostly for land acqusition).

By late May, the first bonding of $8,000,000 will be complete which will inject more financing into the revitalization project.
