The census comes out july 2010. We'll see the deal on population increases.

The one big advantage broad does have over wheeler. Its downtown and has more charm. Wheeler rd is located in a suburban office park.

I searched many diffrent sites. One of the sites being craigslist. Most of the lofts or condos on broad are $750 to $1300. I didn't see any 1 bedroom condos below $850 a month in the whites building.

1 br condo for rent in JB White's bldg (http://augusta.craigslist.org/apa/1475881780.html - broken link)

Both areas have money floating around. The Augusta Exchange area of wheeler road avg. hh income is $75,222. And soon all the 1 bedrooms on broad will start at $900-$1000 a month.

I'm sticking with broad no matter what. The area has changed drastically over the last three years.

I beat is shrinks to less than 170,000. Savannah will surpass Augusta as the second largest city.

You've said some crazy things on here before. But this definitely takes the cake.

Augusta city, richmond county, and the metro are growing in population. In 2007-2008 Richmond county gained 2,000 and the metro 6,000. Augusta is growing even faster in 2008-2009.

Census estimates: Augusta metro area shows population gains | NBC Augusta 26 | news, weather, sports, community, entertainment, shopping for Augusta, Georgia | Local News

According to your way of thinking. Augusta would have to lose over 30,000 people btw 2008-2009. As of July 1st 2008 Augusta-richmond county was 200,000 people.

I agree 100%. But the same can be said for the wheeler rd area. Both areas have had alot of new residential built recently.

Broad-Whites building, Green building, Artist Row, Olde Towne

Wheeler-West Wheeler pkwy, Interstate pkwy, Perimeter pkwy, Roy street

I wouldn't bet on that, considering the 2008 estimates for the City of Augusta's population was 194,149 whereas the City of Savannah's was 132,410. The only thing that would drop Augusta's population down 20,000 and increase Savannah's by 40,000 would be if you physically removed people from Augusta and put them in Savannah lol. I'd be willing to bet that when we get the numbers in from the 2010 census, the city will have a total population VERY close to the 200,000 mark.
