Default Diamond Lakes - Don't let the nice pics fool you!

Doeboy.....that is very deceptive!

Yes, I agree Diamond Lakes is a very nice park with very nice facilities and that is b/c it is new and, if memory serves me well there is also a new elementary school. Now, Walton Acres (which is a decent area) has easy access to the park. However, you need to admit that the area on the other side; that is, the area between Windsor Spring Road and Peach Orchard Road is not the best area to live in. It is a run-down neighborhood. Maybe in addition to sending photos of the park you should have sent photos of the trailer park in the vicinity; can't remember the name.

The Diamond Lake Park is indeed very nice but the the neighborhoods around it are not.. and even if you live in a better subdivision like Walton acres you are still zoned for some pretty bad schools. Don't be fooled by the photos(why are these being posted to this forum anyway? Isn't it against the rules?).. simply take a drive to that area and see for yourself.. maybe at night and see what a lovely area it is..
Also don't forget that this is the same area where the police departnnt conducted a massive gang raid.. netting over 80 ppl.

Another problem with living in that area is that you have to drive atleast 15 miles to get to any decent restaurants or shopping. I think Hephzibah got a Checkers drive thru recently and it was big deal..Even the closest Wal-mart is about 7 miles away..

You ppl are haters, you don't even live in this area. Why are some many house being built in this area then. Especially why are 200 t0 400,000 dollar houses being built. All counties in augusta including richmond, columbia, aiken, and mcduffie have areas where its rural and have trailer parks. You don't even live in augusta but yet you are trying to tell me what is happening in augusta. I can tell because the gang raid you speak of was 70 ppl. The ppl were from meadowbrook, and barton village over 20 to 25 mins from this area. Eastboundary is over 40 mins from this area. Also most of the ppl cops arrested were charged for petty drug crimes FOR MARIJUANA AND COCAINE. What a big deal, that happens in everyday in every city in america. Augusta doesn't have any gangs, i can tell you don't know what you are talking about. La, ny, baltimore, philly, and miami have gangs. Disgusta you can tell doesn't live in augsuta especially south augusta. Because he keeps saying gang raid, the ppl who were arrested were from meadowbrook, bartonvillage, and eastbound. Again ppl don't know what they are talking about.

Augusta was ranked behind macon, savannah, and columbia in violent crime. You would think aug would have more since the city limits have more ppl than all of these cities.

one is a suburb and one is a rural town. The city limits of hephzibah are very rural except for tobbacco r/willis foreman and other areas not in the city limits. One has 6 to 7000 ppl the other is a suburb and half of west augusta. Martinez and west augusta touch each other and its population is about 30,000. So of course there will be more graduates from college. Martinez is not even a suburb really because its connected to west augusta. Kids who stay on pleasant home rd sometime can go to westside in richmond county, and lakeside in columbia county.

Default Pictures of Houses in Hephzibah

I live in Hephzibah. I agree about the high crime rate and run down trailers are everywhere. The beautiful park you saw has a street of trailers in front as you enter. You did not get to see the older neighborhoods that are run down. Yes, new houses are being built but anyone that lives here knows the occupants are black military families. South Augusta the tobacco road area, windsor springs the hepzibah area and willis foreman road are all military retirees. This area is very divided by race and most black military families settle in these areas. I am bi-racial and can honestly say, I do not have any white neighbors in Walton Hills, Walton Acres or Walton Landing (the beautiful house pictures)
