I don't get the critical point thing. Especially since there is already millions of dollars being invested downtown. And alot of big projects start in a couple of months. Plus more people are moving downtown than ever. How can the downtown go back to decades ago? When you have more construction and ppl moving there than previous decades.
Don't start the 'that map's out of date' B.S. with me nortonguy. We all know that Bing and Google maps aren't updated daily. If you noticed, I didn't shade the area where the Judicial Center is. A lot of the land that I shaded is either vacant or for sale, so your Laney Walker revitalization, medical offices, private developer argument is invalid. There's plenty of land down there for everyone, it just has to be managed properly. Maybe if the land downtown was managed properly, it would look like a real city throughout that area, with mid and high-rises instead of 'suburban' type construction mixed in.

I just find it surprising that you, the person who is always preaching about 'supporting downtown' and saying 'what's good for downtown is good for the CSRA' on the Augusta Chronicle website fails to see what having a real college would do for downtown. Maybe if you weren't so arrogant you'd be able to look at things from another person's perspective, but we both know that will never happen.

Anyway, I don't even know why I'm wasting my time arguing about this, we all know ASU is going on Wrightsboro Road, the athletics center is there, student housing is there, now classrooms are going to be there, and you know what? Good for them.

More personal insults. I haven't insulted you once on here. You're getting mad at me because of ASU. They're the people who decide where to expand at. They've chosen to look around the Wrightsboro rd campus.

No, I'm not getting mad at you. All I'm saying is that whenever I or anyone else on this forum shares an opinion that differs with yours, you NEVER try to look at things from their perspective. You ALWAYS simply dismiss their views or opinions as incorrect just because they don't agree with you. THAT is my main problem with you nortonguy, you NEVER empathize with others, if they say something that you disagree with, you simply dismiss them as uneducated of misinformed!

All I was asking you to do was to just TRY and imagine what it would be like if my scenario came true, but you wouldn't have it, you simply dismissed it and said 'it won't work' or 'it'll never happen' or 'that's not what should happen'. That's why I have a problem with you nortonguy, you have to AT LEAST TRY to see others' perspective on things, but you simply WON'T do it. It's just like the time I told par4him that Port Royal was 90% occupied and you quickly responded by saying that I was wrong and it was 'actually 93% occupied'. WTF?!?

I think you need to read the Medical District thread again. Alot of people disagreed with you on Paine College's new Heal Center. You should read your replies after everytime somebody didn't agree with you. You did the same thing you're accusing me of. You've also snapped on Hotmike before too. You wrote a post one time oh and Hotmike don't get me started on you. I think you edited your post after a couple of minutes.

In the thread you speak of, whenever someone replied with a disagreement, I retorted with a proper response.

Someone said they think it's fine for Paine to build the HEAL center.
I responded by saying that I don't see why they need an arena that big.

Someone said that a little competition for the JBA would be fine.
I said that was the wrong way of thinking since the JBA is publicly owned and what hurts it hurts the taxpayers.

So as you see, I NEVER simply say 'No, You're Wrong'. I ALWAYS give a reason why I disagree with someone, something you rarely do why you disagree.

Anyway, I'll make you a deal. I will TRY MY HARDEST to keep from losing my temper on here when I post. I really will, I know it's childish and I am very embarrassed that I've allowed it to happen again. If I do it 1 more time, then I'll stop using this forum, the last thing I want is people to compare me with par4him or disgusta. I just hope that you'll try to see more things from my perspective and not be so quick to dismiss my views.

oh really Norton Guy! I dont edit crap, no need to but you on the other hand........

Al you do all day is speak half-truths on this forum. There is not enough time in a day talk about all of them. and frankly you are not worth it. You guys need to have civil conversation on here.

Norton guy please dont my name up any reason unless its on the topics. Okay?

If I had a choice on where they should expand, I would say expand down town and turn Augusta into a college town. But ASU is buying the golf patch not land down town. ASU is trying double there enrollment to the size of a Valdosta Sate. They need that patch of land to do that. The golf course is a burden on the city, losing money. Atleast if ASU buys the patch, thats less money the city is losing. We will gain thousands more students in return of selling that golf patch, which has a whoppin 130 members. But Like said before ASU will do well anywhere if it expands.

Here we go again.... Please READ my post again.. I'm not talking about you... I only repeated what EastsideDave said about you. This was one of his older post on city data....

'' Hotmike don't get me started on you''.

This is not FROM my mouth. I wasn't directing it at you but repeating what EasideDave said about you. I was showing him how on here. He has gotten into with me and you on these discussions.

OK...

To Hot_Mike, yes, like nortonguy said, I did say 'Hot_Mike, don't get me started' to you in a post on some other thread, I don't remember which thread or what it was about, I'll have to find it; and yes, I did edit the post to remove that phrase because I realized it was not in good taste and I was in the 'heat of the moment', so I edited the post so as not to offend you or anyone else. If I have offended you, I apologize.

To nortonguy, I don't know if you're trying to or not, but please don't try to 'start anything' between myself and Hot_Mike. Like I said above, I do apologize for letting my temper get the better of me on here sometimes, and I will work on that. Plus, Hot_Mike also makes a very good point in his 7:40 post. I will PM you if we need to discuss things further.

I'd think so, especially since they say they want to double their student body size in the near future, that's almost 14 thousand students. Valdosta has a football team and their student body is like 12 thousand, so it's definitely a possibility that ASU could get football in the very near future.
