This project is one of many I believe the Southern part of the I-520 corridor will experience. The next will be to widen the interstate from Deans Bridge to Peach Orchard. Augusta will continue to see growth in this sector, I think the Peach Orchard, Windor Spring/ I-520 exit should be reconfigured for better access all around as well as widening both roads.

This should save George power customers some money

The expansion of Plant Vogtle could allow Georgia Power Co. to pass along as much as $2 billion in customer benefits – roughly double the initial forecast of $1 billion, company officials said.

Hey Nort, any ideas who is purchasing the land down from Carmax? I drove past today and saw that it is under contract.

I think it's a smart idea adding residential to compete against the Augusta Exchange, Augusta mall, and VAR all located within a couple of miles.. It would make the development unique compared to the other three... VAR may have a few hotels similar to AE, but no residential is coming..

It could be considered part of the 'general' area, but it's not located in the actual development.. Nobody is walking across busy Riverwatch Pkwy to access the VAR... I believe the only new road in WTP will be the extension of Frontage rd into the roundabout... The address of the new apartment complex is 675 Frontage rd.. The pedestrian activity in WTP might have a more vibrant feel compared to an large lifestyle/power center development..

''A petition by Will McKnight, on behalf of McKnight Properties, requesting a change of zoning from Zone B-2 (General Business) and HI (Heavy Industry) to Zone B-2 (General Business) affecting property containing approximately 13.33 acres and is part of 675 Frontage Road.''

The Augusta National recently purchased the apartment complex on Washington rd across the street(Greens on Washington)....

They're buying up everything in close proximity, and this is not surprising at all.
