I will be surprised if you stop coming to our forum...

HA! GOOD ONE NORTONGUY!
Pinbridge you don't know what you are talking about. Please stay in Kenny-saw. I like how people in neighboring townships like Kennysaw like to consider themselves ATLANTA

Pinebridge, I hate to rain on your 'Augusta Sucks' parade, but Winn-Dixie went bankrupt in 2005, resulting in the closure of over 350 stores. Now, after restructuring, the company only operates stores in Florida, southeastern Louisiana and Mississippi, Alabama, and southwestern and coastal Georgia. So, according to your thinking, I guess that Atlanta wasn't able to support them either :/

Everyone that has a thing called 'Common Sense' knows that Winn Dixie closed 350 stores (including a store in ATLANTA, the metro you supposedly live in) because they went bankrupt. If Publix and Kroger, leave, well...., they won't be leaving even if the entire Augusta area was poor.

I could see something like a Trader Joes building in Columbia County before Richmond County. If they did go in RC, it'd likely be in the VaR. I could see one going in Aiken too. Just my opinion.

I was just commenting on the article that norton posted. It was from some grocery store industry magazine or something like that. The article was analyzing the area's 'supermarket scene' and how the author thought that the area could support more upper-scale markets like Trader Joes.

When Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and Costco come to the metro. I think two of the three will open in Richmond county.. Costco is supposed to be at VAR... But they may decide to locate somewhere else in Richmond county..

Wheeler Town Park in West Augusta only has one store lol... ... And Carmax just opened 2 days ago.. Hopefully by this time next year the sign will be full.

I could see either a Trader Joes or a Whole Foods going in the WTP, especially since it's right on the CC and RC county line, and the Costco in the VaR of course...but, 2 of the 3 could go in VaR since Costco technically isn't just a grocery store.
