I am looking to rent a car for two months. Does anyone know of any good deals. Also, since I do not own a car already, what is the best (cheapest) way to get car insurance without paying the car rental's daily insurance fees. Thanks.

You can get your best deals usually by going to the travel sites, Priceline etc. Also you can try the lease programs the rental car companies have. I know Avis has them for a period such as you ask for 2 months. I would try the travel sites and I would contact the car rental companies themself and then cost compare. I know quite frequently Enterprise has some good rates.

As far as insurance when someone does not own a car and therefore has no insurance. Im going to have to say you are going to be at the mercy of the car rental companies on that one. It is expensive and can be about $40 a day. You want to make sure you take both the insurances they sell because one only provides limited coverage. Another thing many don't know when driving a rental car. If one has an accident and doesn't buy full coverage insuance the person is responsible for the down time of the car. That is the time the car is out of commission and not being rented by anyone. Buy full coverage. Its expensive but you don't have the worry if something should happen.

I forgot this website many use. BookingBuddies.com. Some find this travel site very helpful.

Hope this helps.

Jimrob, thank you so much for the information. Between the rental cost and daily insurance fee, I might as well buy a car.

If you get a car on orbitz or priceline, you usually have an option to buy cheaper daily insurance, that may be the way to go.
