Default Austin Street Names

I've been searching online for some explanations as to Austin's street names, and all I've been able to come up with is this:

City of Austin - Austin Treasures: Austin Streets

Here are some street names I've been wondering about, if anyone has any intelligence on them. Feel free to add other streets as well.

-South First (who thought it would be a good idea to have a South First street when there was already a completely different First Street?)
-North Loop
-Spyglass
-Rainey Street
-Walsh Tarlton
-Parmer Lane

There's Hairy Man Road in Round Rock, which has a pretty interesting story behind it:

Well, did you know there are also South 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th streets? I believe they can all be traced back to the Bouldin Creek subdivision.

I believe First Street was extended south over the river, so it wasn't a completely different road -- it just took a 90 degree turn. Later, it was extended west.
Here is a map from 1919 showing the Bouldin Creek Addition. There used to be a South 4th, too, but it appears to have been later named Bouldin Ave.

Don't know the story on this one, but I can tell you there are several roads in Austin called "Loop". Often, they were phases of what was planned to eventually become a loop around Austin (like most other cities had). But plans were thwarted or dropped (see Loop 360, Loop 1).

-Rainey Street
Dunno, but I do know Rainey St. is quite old and I recall it has an interesting history. Also, in the show King of The Hill (by Austinite Mike Judge), the Hills live on Rainey Street. Quite possibly a reference to the street here in Austin.

-Parmer Lane
Dunno about these either, but I'm sure someone has some info.
