Default Gables Central Park apts

When I start a travel RN position in Austin, my company wants to place me at Gables Central Park apts. Does anyone have any inside info on this area and the apt complex? ie: Safe? Proximity to downtown? Close enough to Seton Main if I wanted to walk to work?

They are in a "safe" area, very close to downtown (at least by this boards standards) and you could walk to work if you don't mind braving the elements.

Thanks for the info So an estimated time frame for walking to work? 15 minutes? I don't think the elements would be a problem unless it was pouring down rain. I would be walking early morning and evening.

This area is great. You can walk to Central Market which is one of the best grocery stores in town. The apartments are high $ for the space you get though.
