Another thing to remeber about all of the communities mentioned is that you will be traveling through the worst of Greater Austin's traffic if you intend to commute. Just getting to Mopac or I35 will take you twice as long as the actual highway trip which is infamous for its horrid traffic problems. As bad as it is when a semi flips on the lower deck of 35 its nothing compared to when the one lane going into town is shut down for a fender bender. The less than spectacular roads of Austin give way to the grossly inadequite dirt paths of the burbs.

I don't know if anybody mentioned this before, but Cat Hollow and the Whole Brushy Creek Area are in the "unincorporated" part of Round Rock, so some of the taxes will be different, you have to pay for a library card, law enforcement is in charge of Williamson County Sheriff and I am sure there are a lot more other things that differ from being within the Round Rock city limits per se.
And also, in regards to the previous post, it takes about 10 minutes to get from C.H. to I35 (exit / onramp 252). I don't think that is so bad. |
