It is a very nice area, other then the traffic on Brodie Lane coming in from South of Austin. The plans to improve that traffic problem have been put on indefinite hold due to lack of funds.

I've heard traffic in Brodie can be pretty bad.

If you go to the next major intersection west of Brodie (MoPac), and you're in the Circle C, VaWO, and Meridian area. Which all have excellent schools.

Where Brodie Springs is, you miss pretty much all the Brodie Ln traffic since it is so close to Slaughter. That wouldn't be a concern of mine. FWIW, I drive up Brodie every day.

The South Austin schools in the slaughter area are highly ranked locally and nationally. The two best schools are Bailey MS, Gorzicki MS, Paredes MS. The top high schools are Bowie and Akins HS. All schools that were mentioned are recognized or exemplary.
