I am from San Antonio and have never been to a UT game. I would like to purchase tickets to just one Austin game. I am looking for 6 to 8 tickets but do not even know how to begin to find some good seats at normal (whatever that is) price.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought I would find a thread about this but am not having any luck.

I'm not positive but it is possible all home games are sold out.

But in general you should be able to contact the UT athletic department ticket office.

You can probably go to www.texassports.com for more information. I think it is highly unlikely you will get 6-8 seats together.

Craigslist. Be sure you get the paper tickets and meet in person. You could also try some of the ticket outlets.

Ticket outlets are generally going to be your only option at this point.

Back in the late 80s, early 90s, you could buy end zone tickets for $6 at Randall's...and you had enough room to lay down if you wanted to. Ahh, the good ole days of bad UT football.

Remember that you'll see a lot of student tickets sold on Craigslist along with LASP tickets. Those require that you show your UT ID at the gate. The tickets will either have "LASP" or "STUDENT" on the ticket in big letters. Stubhub has always been a pretty good place to get tickets on-line. Most of the time you can get tickets for face value unless they're playing a really good team. However, "good" seats are very difficult to buy at a reasonable price unless you know a season ticket holder. You should be able to get tickets for Wyoming or Florida Atlantic for a good price.

Florida Atlantic was going to be my suggestion. Not Wyoming though... not a HORRIBLE program, and it's the home opener. Wyoming sold all of their allotment as well, so there is demand from the Wyoming side to come to the game. If you were looking for fewer tickets, I'd say just head to the stadium on game day, but for that many, you'll want to look around in advance. Some of the UT athletics forums (shaggybevo, etc) might be a good place to start to maybe buy from STH's who can't attend.

Yeah, it's weird to me that people tend to sell their home opener tickets, but I've seen it the past few years. There is someone on stubhub selling 8 tickets to the Wyoming game for $40 each. Sure, they're in the upper End Zone, but still not a bad deal.

I would have loved 40. tickets. I am seeing super expensive ones; well out of my price range.

Well, Wyoming and Florida Atlantic were the games to look at. The Wyoming game already happened, but there were cheap seats available at the beginning of last week. There are still a ton of cheap tickets available on StubHub to the Florida Atlantic game.
