Austin to College Station is 83 miles.
Yeah, maybe if you're in Manor or somewhere around there. From downtown Austin to College Station it's a little over 100 miles. Plus Katy to College Station is a more straightforward drive.

Try the JW Steakhouse in Carmine on 290....Great wine list, craft beers, the Food can be as expensive or as cheap as you want it to be. Our "Go to" stop when we take 290

Second JW's Steakhouse and Royer's depending on what you're in the mood for. Depending on the day, JW's is probably easier to get into.

Tony's in Sealy on I-10 is my all time favorite. It's just good old southern home cooking. I always make plans to sto for a meal when I'm driving through there.

Peters BBQ, and the BBQ is actually, and surprisingly very good.
Have driven the I-10 / 71 Houston to Austin route hundreds of times, finally stopped at ate at Peters about a year ago and was pleasantly surprised.

We grab to go BBQ from Peters probably every 3rd or 4th time we pass through Ellinger.
