The city that you live in gets a (relatively) small %.

The higher % of the property tax bill (here in Texas) goes to the local school district. (but is collected by the county taxing district)

What say you?
Around 15% on 3 properties.

One property went from 16K to 160K in a single year. That was not cool

Our primary residence almost doubled in value and we pay around 10% of income on that.

Was that from putting a house on some land or something else?

7.7% of my income, 3.6% of household income... had I kept my side business and we received bonuses, it would have been around 2-3%

About 3% with homestead and disability tax reductions. I do think we own more house then we need. We could downsize, but we like it here.

Cedar Park tax rate is higher then Austin and many areas around it. Cedar Park is in Leander ISD which also has a tax rate higher then Austin and many surrounding areas.
